Just a week ahead of our home opener, Orlando City SC revealed a new away kit. The new white threads pay a tribute to the fans, including details like our founding year as a club, our zip code, and of course, the Orlando Health logo. Take a look below and let us know your thoughts.

Orlando City starts it’s season at home on March 3rd at the Orlando City Stadium. We’ll be facing off against D.C. United. During the offseason, head coach Jason Kreis did a complete overhaul of the team.

In total, we lost 14 players from last season and gained 14 new ones, including a few stars from NYCFC, RBNY, LA Galaxy, Chicago Fire and Columbus Crew. It appears that Kreis will be putting the focus on our midfield and attack. Either way, study up on the new names to the roster and be ready to yell them loud and proud with all of us in the Supporters section!

Not local? Catch the match on MLS Live. Sorry, this one won’t be on ESPN, Fox or Univision.

The new kits are available at The Lion’s Den in downtown Orlando now and will be available online starting February 23rd at 7pm ET. Who’s number will you be repping this year?

MNUFC kit reveal: Loons In Stripes

Bridget McDowell - Minnesota United FC/mlsfemale
Official Minnesota United FC Reporter

By Bridget McDowell // @BCMcDowell

We Minnesota United FC supporters will sing “Wonderwall” any chance we get. But it isn’t often that we get to sing it in a packed four-story rotunda.

An estimated 1,000 Minnesota faithful and curious onlookers gathered in the Best Buy Rotunda at Mall of America for the reveal of the Loons’ 2018 primary kit. While many of the fans had seen leaked photos of the replica shirt and sneak-peeks released by the club of the authentic jersey’s details, the first glimpse of the entire kit was still an event.

Fresh off the plane from preseason training in Florida, the squad filed on stage to model their new primary kit in its entirety: Grey Henley shirt with a red button, dark grey vertical stripes on the front, the Adidas piping down each side in sky blue, a borderless crest and a small loon silhouette at the bottom. The light grey shorts, with matching piping, set off the dark stripes of the shirt, making it appear much less bland than most fans feared after seeing the leaked images.

This kit will certainly stand out more than last year’s light grey/blue sash kit. I haven’t decided if it’s the dark grey stripes that do the job or the exceptionally bright white bullseye front and center, but it works.

Speaking of bullseyes…

Target, one of the first sponsors to hop on board for MNUFC’s inaugural MLS season in 2017, sent its canine mascot, Bullseye, to model his own dog-friendly jersey (not yet for sale, I checked).

The event was also an opportunity to get a preseason status check on the squad. Field reporter, and former Loon, Jamie Watson talked with coach Adrian Heath and defensive back Brent Kallman about their Florida trip. Both spoke of progress on the field and off, with chemistry building between the newcomers and veterans. Heath also hinted that the much-talked-about potential deal with Columbian mid Nicolas Benedetti is still on the table despite rumors to the contrary.

There was plenty of promise and positivity to sing about. But, just to be sure, the squad returned to the stage, this time with scarves which they raised high as staff queued up the Oasis hit on the rotunda’s speakers. And we sang…

There’s more to come. The Loons head south again this week to close out their preseason at the Carolina Challenge Cup before opening the season March 3 in San Jose.

IN TRUE LA GALAXY FASHION #SINCE96

Michelle Huitink - LA Galaxy/mlsfemale
Official LA Galaxy Reporter

January 21, 2018

This was a first for me. I know Los Angeles is seen as the city where dreams come true and where anything can happen, but when I submitted my intro article to MLSFemale, I wouldn’t have imagined it would get me in so fast and interviews with players at that!

Thanks to Allison Sorrell for getting me into the exclusive LA Galaxy launch party that was available to STM. I was dropped right in.

Flashy. That’s what some think of us here in LA. This party certainly was. It took place at The Novo at L.A. Live, right in the heart of downtown near the Staples Center and The Grammy Museum. The venue had a club vibe with a full bar and DJ. It was meant for all ages. Fans hanging around with the trophies and playing some FIFA 93, 2012 and 2018 on Xbox.

I and a few other media in attendance were allowed to speak with Ola Kamara first. I asked, “What attitude and expectations are you coming into the 2018 season with?” He made eye contact with me as he responded, “Of course, I want to keep scoring goals, that’s what I love. Hopefully, I can keep doing that for Galaxy, too. I think [LA] had a difficult season last year and I hope I can be an addition to the team that can help us into the playoffs.” His eyes sparkled and he flashed a winning smile. He’s the projected 11 for the team and has a healthy number of goals under his belt, so I have all the faith he will fulfill his role.

Then, it was time for the reveal.

Linda Pickle -the Galaxian long-time fan- along with up and coming soccer girls and Los Dos represented the jerseys the team has sported since 1996. It was fantastic to see beloved classics on stage: Cobi Jones, Mike Magee, Alexi Lalas, Kevin Hartman, Cienfuegos, and Carlos “Pescadito” Ruiz. Gold and blue confetti and smoke machines went off a few times. Our new LA Galaxy team was presented to us.

Sebastian Lletget, who mingled with fans till the end of the party, adorned the new uniform for the media. I asked him how he liked the new jersey and he said “Fantastic! I’m looking forward to scoring lots of goals in it and the fans like it.”  As he stood back after speaking with us, we took pictures. I called out to him: “looking good!” He appreciated that, saying, “that’s what I wanted to hear!” He gave a shaka sign angled like he was also giving a thumbs up.

I was already excited for the 2018 season as the official reporter, but I’m even more hyped after meeting these guys and seeing the new kits in person! Their enthusiasm and optimism really shone. I can proudly say, I am officially a season ticket member after this event.
